Carmen Serejo:
Born in Mozambique (1961), she is Portuguese and lives in Sintra, Portugal
With a degree in Administrative Management and Advisory Services, she spent 37 years of her life working in companies and institutions, and the last 22 in a United Nations Agency (UNICEF). Her passion and determination to learn photography came after retirement. She trained in photography and photojournalism at the Protocol Center for Professional Training for Journalists (Cenjor).
Her life experience led her to turn to photography, as an amateur, to express herself personally about what interests her most: the human person in its biological, cultural and social dimensions. Some of her works have been shown in solo and collective exhibitions, both in Portugal and Finland, and has received awards, namely at the Tokyo International Foto Awards (TIFA) and European Photography Awards (EPA). She is currently working on a photobook of her own that is combined with a feature-length documentary - METAMÓRPHOSIS, by António Luı́s Moreira.
