Halftone Magazine

Where all members have the opportunity to publish.

Welcome to Halftone Photo Magazine

This is a magazine that we wish may become a symbol of the quality and diversity of photography made in Macau and in the Greater Bay Area of China at large.

The main aim of Halftone Magazine is to create visibility for hidden or latent talent, providing opportunities for photographers to showcase their art, particularly those that have never published before.

We hope to motivate photographers to continue their photographic journeys, wherever those may take them, while sharing their creations with the readers - or should we say viewers, since our magazine almost has no text!

Halftone #01

Halftone #05

This edition showcases projects by Pascal Pun, Alexandre Marreiros, André Ritchie, João Miguel Barros and Nino Bártolo, works of great consistency due to their particular way of seeing the world. Two special presentations are also featured. The first concerns the project "Allegory of Dreams", by the collective YiiMa, an art group formed in Macau by Ung Vai Meng and Chan Hin Io, which represented Macao at the 2022 Venice Biennale. The second one, included in the "Photobook peek a-boo" section, explores the surprising book-album "Autoportrait" by Martin Parr, a fully revised and updated edition, first published in 2000. With the issuance of this new edition, Halftone intent is to continue the dissemination of the works from its members, and is open to everyone wishing to join the association and publish their projects.
